We’ve been hard at work getting Craft Roots Bar and Veggie Grill ready for a summer open! Here’s a peek at just some of the improvements we’ve made so far to the restaurant at 17230 Monterey Road in beautiful downtown Morgan Hill. Check out what’s happening inside and out: Exciting Exterior InstallationsYou may have noticed there’s a new sign in town - Craft Roots! Local artist and long-time Morgan Hill resident, Doug Wright of Wright Works designed our sign logo and was hard at work in the heat getting our awning up and stenciled. In addition to the awning, outside on our patio, we’ve installed beautiful benches made of repurposed wood from Asia and gorgeous table tops made of Costa Rican teak. You’ll see these covered up until we open in August, but here’s a look at these beautiful wood pieces by local craftsman Anthony Alfaro. These beautiful tables and benches will serve as the perfect meet-up spot for our guests to take in some great vegan food and refreshments and soak up the positive vibes happening in Morgan Hill’s downtown social scene. Last but not least, our exterior improvements include a beautiful hand-painted mural on the side of our building by Doug Wright of Wright Works. Doug and his family are Morgan Hill staples (his wife is Lana Wright from Lana’s Dance studio) and he has done other beautiful art murals throughout our town and at both Live Oak and Sobrato High Schools. Inspiring Improvements on the InsideWe’re blessed with a great space and a talented team. As a result, our commitment to using reclaimed, recycled and repurposed materials are coming to life and good things are taking shape in our interior space as well. Thanks to a very good friend of ours, Adam Ferguson, we got some donated wood from a broken-down barn in San Martin from his friend's property. Another one of our good friends, Jimmy Quenelle, helped craft our backsplash over the taps out of the reclaimed local barn wood. We can’t wait to populate those taps with the best in local fresh craft beer, kombuchas and nitro coffees - some of which will be non-alcoholic. Likewise, we’re excited to breathe new life into the existing pizza oven. Thank you Tony Rosa Painting for restoring this great feature. We're looking forward to putting it to good use making delicious flatbreads, roasted vegetable entrees, and yes, some 100% plant-based pizzas! Lots Going on - Stay Updated! That’s just a few small updates on the latest at Craft Roots Bar and Veggie Grill. We’re hard at work pushing toward a soft opening soon with an official ribbon-cutting to follow shortly thereafter. Want to stay in-the-know and get updated on the official dates?
