Frequently Asked Questions About ...
We field a lot of questions about our restaurant, 100% plant-based menu, and our vegan craft beers and drinks. Here's what others have asked and what you might find helpful to know about Craft Roots Vegan Bar & Grill:
Our Food and Drink Menu
Is your menu fully plant-based/vegan?
Yes, we are a 100% plant-based restaurant. Everything from our house-made flatbread crust to our Craft Beer* on draft are vegan.
Do you just serve craft beer?
We’re proud to offer handcrafted cocktails and a variety of local wines and we utilize the Barnivores vegan directory for those as well.
What do you have on draft?
Our 20 draft handles will consist of local fresh craft beer, ciders, kombuchas, and nitro teas - some of which will be non-alcoholic. Gluten-free beer options will be available as well.
Are you 100% organic?
We try our best to always source organically whenever possible.
Do you have gluten-free options?
Yes, we absolutely do. Most of our menu items are gluten-free or can be made gluten-free. We'll identify the menu items that can't be made gluten-free with a small grain icon.

What is tempeh?
Tempeh is a fermented soy product that's a popular meat replacement option for vegetarians and vegans. Tempeh is a versatile and nutritious ingredient that’s high in protein, prebiotics, and contains several vitamins and minerals. By itself, tempeh has a firm but chewy texture and a slightly nutty taste. At Craft Roots, we use Alive & Healing Tempeh.
Alive & Healing Tempeh is artisan tempeh that is far more tender than conventionally-produced tempeh brands. It’s refreshingly delicious and versatile compared to the dense and dry tempeh products of the past. The superior texture lends itself to a creative variety of delicious high-protein recipes designed for vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike.
I have a severe allergy, can you accommodate it?
We would love to be able to accommodate severe allergies but at the moment our kitchen isn’t set up to ensure that no cross-contamination occurs. So if you have a life threatening allergy, please be advised that it’s not recommended dining at Craft Roots.
We do have allergen symbols on all our menus to identify dishes that are naturally soy-free, nut-free, or can be made gluten-free, however, please always alert our staff to any allergies you may have.
Don’t hesitate to phone the restaurant at 408-612-8297, ask a staff member on-site, or send us an email at [email protected] if you have further questions or concerns.

Locations
Do you have other locations besides Morgan Hill?
We're so glad you asked! In September 2024 we opened a second location, Craft Roots Vegan Kitchen, in Sunnyvale, CA at 1026 W. Evelyn Avenue. This fully vegan cloud kitchen offers an array of healthy and comfort eats with plenty of gluten free options. As a pickup location at Sunny's Food Hub, we can now provide a way for those who work in the Sunnyvale and Cupertino area to be able to get the same great vegan food they love while at work. Orders for this location can be placed through Doordash, GrubHub, and UberEats. No dine in options in Sunnyvale though. Just pick-up.
